Who's that Pokémon?

From sculpting class at Cal State Fullerton. Instructor: Vin Teng

Mixing together Super Sculpey and black and white Sculpey III

The armature for the arms was too long, so I had to readjust and cut it...

By popular request

The 3 guys on the left are half-arsed-from-memory renditions of characters from a CSUF grad student named... Woody. He had a very impressive MFA in Illustration exhibit, where he had many well-made (cartoony, humorous, inked+watercolored!) comic pages displayed.

The pencil drawings in the middle-right are done by Christina. Yep. Pretty good.

Upper right: I can actually draw a better pic of Christina; this was just my first attempt. I should try doing stuff like this more...!

The model has become a crazy Evangelion-type creature.

The Happy Picture Fun Time Word Game

Had a surprisingly raunchy blast at the PMC's Life Drawing Night tonight. This was our second time of trying out this drawing+word game. Everybody gets in a circle, and each person begins with a stack of cards/paper equal to the number of people participating.
On card #1, you write something for the person on your right to draw.
Then everyone passes their stacks to the right.
You look at your newly-received stack, read card #1, then put it on the bottom of the stack.
Then you draw your interpretation of that writing on card #2.
Then everyone passes the stack to the right.
The person next to you looks at what you drew, then writes a description about it.

Man this is complicated, but basically you pass a stack of cards around in a circle and take turns writing descriptions, drawing that description, and writing a description of that drawing, and so on.

Here's one that I managed to scan and stitch together in Photoshop (a very powerful computer program used by professional artists worldwide).

That Photoshop comment wasn't supposed to be naive in a serious way.

Some of these things may never be posted, as they are too raunchy.

Secret agent girl

Here's a preview of my model (which I am now slowly rigging) from my 3D classes.

OoooOoooo, ambient occlusion...
My teacher, who wasn't the same teacher for the previous class, expressed concerns about the size of my character's head. "How would she put on a hat or fit through a door?" Very carefully, of course.

Her world would be similarly proportioned as she is, so the world she lives in would have doors that are wide enough for her head (and the heads of people of her species) to fit through.

I did actually scale her body to be a bit larger, though, after hearing those comments. Hopefully I'll be able to animate her alright. I could take into account her body proportions and have her move and run in a somewhat weighted manner, or I could ignore that and make her run very swiftly, as if the length of her legs were no hindrance at all...

There are actually tons of similarly-proportioned characters out there, but I was pretty surprised to discover that the characters in The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker don't have heads as large as my secret agent girl!

Storyboard sketches (which became layouts) for the "final attack" in my film

I'm trying to make him spin one more time before he shoots.
On another note, I'd probably have to flesh out/finish this more, along with facial expressions (of course) if I were to ever present this professionally...
